Welcome….
to Tauernhof! All across the world there are men and women who want their lives to count for good and for God. Many of our past students say that the time they spent with us was the single, most transforming period of their Christian life. So, read on and prayerfully think about investing several months of your life in one of our Bible Schools at Tauernhof.
General
TAUERNHOF offers the following courses which are conducted in English:
Fall Bible School (12 weeks, September to December)
Spring Bible School (8 weeks, April to June)
Upward Bound (5 weeks, July to August)
These intensive courses are intended to encourage the growth of Christians so that they may be equipped for effective Christian living and service. A four month (Upward Bound and Fall Bible School) or six month (Spring Bible School, Upward Bound and Fall Bible School) course is possible when you combine the different programs. Our students come from various countries and denominations, which creates a valuable multicultural learning environment. This international interdenominational environment provides the opportunity for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the worldwide body of Christ. The relatively small size of Tauernhof provides a personal setting in which to study, form great friendships, work together, take responsibility, and above all to grow deeper in your relationship to Jesus Christ.
Mission statement
Our Mission is to proclaim the transforming presence of Jesus Christ through biblical teaching and practical training, equipping men and women for service in His Church worldwide.
Goals for Tauernhof Bible School
To provide training for Christians, in order...
1. To facilitate the deepening of relationship with, faith in, and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, i.e. to come to personally
experience the reality of His indwelling life ’Christ in you'.
2. To increase knowledge of God's Word.
3. To provide opportunities for practical application of spiritual & mental learning, i.e. outreaches, devotions, Bible studies, services, etc.
4. To promote the development of the Christian as a whole person, i.e. spriritual, mental & physical.
5. To give students the advantages of cross-cultural and multi-cultural Christian exposure, also by providing a community environment
which encourages Christian fellowship, maturity, responsibility, participation and cooperation.
Students
No specific academic qualifications are required for entry, but acceptance for the course is based both on the student’s completed application, and on the comments of two referees. Students must be 18 years of age at the beginning of the course. All lectures are in English. Students are divided into small groups for the purpose of outreaches, family groups, sports, practical work and personal interaction. In this setting students are encouraged to develop and use their God-given abilities, as well as learn how to live and work effectively within a team setting. The interaction between students from different countries and cultures brings an added dimension to spiritual growth and development.
Program and timetable
The weekly Bible School schedule consists of approx. four lectures and a seminar hour daily, Monday through Friday. Please see the FAQ page for travel directions.

Outreaches
All students participate in outreaches during the Bible School. We have outreaches to local schools, churches, hospitals, retirement homes, etc. Students are encouraged during these outreaches to sing, to perform dramas, to give devotions and Bible studies, to play games etc. These outreaches are very much appreciated by the local community who attend our outreaches.
Recreation
The alpine environment of mountains, lakes and waterfalls offers great opportunities for hiking, running, climbing, skiing etc. Tauernhof has a small fitness room, an outdoor volleyball court and a climbing wall. An indoor/outdoor swimming pool, gym, soccer field, various courts and a fitness centre are within walking distance (costs are not included in the student fee). A weekly fitness plan is an important part of the course. On Saturdays, outings are organized for the students and they vary from hikes to day trips to famous places like Hallstatt, Salzburg etc (the trips cost on average around 20 Euros each).
Travel weekend
There is an opportunity to explore a little bit more of the local area, Austria or even other countries in Europe during a travel weekend. Students are allowed to stay away for three nights. Many students go to Salzburg, Vienna, Munich or even further away. Other students go into the mountains and sleep in a hut or a tent. It is also possible to stay at Tauernhof and do day trips. It is not advisable to plan a trip too far since the time is short. If you plan to see more of Europe you may want to do so either before or after Bible School.
Attend more than one European School ...
The European Bible Schools can also be combined. For example, it is possible to attend Tauernhof Fall School - Rio Vida Winter - Tauernhof Spring School - and then Tauernhof Upward Bound. The different European Bible Schools have been structured in a way that means you won´t hear the same series twice ! What better way could there be to enjoy different European locations and cultures ?
