Tauernhof can host up to 90 students and is known for its warm, personal atmosphere and close-knit community. Each term brings together students from approximately ten different countries, primarily Canada, Germany, and the USA, along with a few from other parts of the world.
The average age in the Spring term is about 22 years old, while in the Fall term it’s around 19. Students typically share a room with three to five roommates, which helps build friendships across cultures and backgrounds. This multicultural environment provides the opportunity for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the worldwide body of Christ.

The daily schedule includes three lectures and seminar hours each day, Monday to Friday. Afternoons are generally set aside for personal study and relaxation. Saturdays are free for recreation, optional outings, and day trips, while Sundays are dedicated to worship, fellowship, and rest.
Beyond the classroom, students take part in readings, assignments, seminars, and practical opportunities to apply what they learn. Students also take part in daily household duties and weekly blocks of practical work, such as cleaning, maintenance, and gardening. Equally important is setting aside time for personal study, rest, and sports, both individually and as a group.

A fitness plan is also an essential part of the course. We love to do sports at Tauernhof, and students are asked to dedicate around 4 hours per week to physical activity. We don’t expect anyone to be especially sporty, the aim is simply to move regularly and develop healthy habits. Each Wednesday students participate in a sports afternoon with a variety of activities to choose from. Sport options include soccer, volleyball, climbing, hiking, running, walking and indoor workouts.
Ultimately, the program is designed to help students grow closer to the Lord. Developing healthy habits like regular exercise, Bible reading, and prayer can support and deepen that relationship by strengthening both body and spirit.
